Languages
For 2nd Edition, Linguistics is a Knowledge and will be used that way. At start, you get a number of additional languages equal to each added together.
1 = 1 + 2 = 3 + 3 = 6 + 4 = 10 + 5 = 15
Additional languages can be purchased individually with XP in stages.
Taking “Natural Linguist” adds +1 to each of those so a maximum of 20 starting languages, and reduces the XP cost to learn new languages during game.
For 20th, we are allowing Languages to be bought as a Background with the same rules as above. Don’t take them as a Merit.

Spending XP
We don’t force you to write an essay to justify your spends. There should be some reason for it RP-wise, but for the most part, you just tell the bot what you want and if you have the XP, you get it.
Tutor vs Mentor (and Library):
You can use your Mentor/Library as many times in a Chapter as you have dots in it. The bot will roll your Mentor/Library at diff 8 (you can only use 1 at a time and not both) and any successes you get lower the end cost of your spend. You cannot botch this roll.
A Tutor is a Sheeted NPC or a PC which you can learn from. In this case, you name the Tutor and the bot rolls their “Stat” + Instruction (a Secondary anyone can take) at diff 8 and each success reduces your end cost to learn.
